TIME MACHINE
An iron sword, forged into the cyclical shape of an Ouroboros, lies encased within a hermetically sealed glass chamber. The object is subjected to a violent, accelerated atmosphere: ultrasonic humidifiers and an oxygen injection system saturate the air with a hyper-saline mist.
This environment acts as a chamber of "anti-preservation." Instead of freezing time to protect the artifact, the system aggressively fast-forwards it. The highly corrosive atmosphere forces the metal to oxidize, dissolve, and disintegrate—a process of self-inflicted damage that transforms the weapon into an excavated relic in real-time.
Exhibition History: Presented at "Substrate" (Curated by Tamar Margalit) at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo. During the exhibition, the accelerated decay was visible within weeks; the salt mist created a rapid accumulation of rust, physically consuming the sword and altering its form daily.
